• UEN (Unique Entity Number) is a standard identifier issued to entities like businesses, clubs and societies, and  or non profit organisation, like MCSTs in Singapore.

• For MCSTs, the base UEN is assigned by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA).

• When an MCST registers for PayNow Corporate, the system may append a suffix like ‘001’ to the UEN to distinguish the PayNow-linked account from other internal accounts or sub-entities.

• This suffix helps banks and payment systems route funds correctly, especially when an organization has multiple bank accounts or payment channels. —

🏢 Why MCSTs specifically use this format

• MCSTs often operate multiple financial accounts—for sinking funds and maintenance fees or refundable deposits, etc.

• The ‘001’ suffix is typically the default PayNow proxy for the MCST’s main operating account.

• If an MCST has more than one PayNow-linked account, additional suffixes like ‘002’, ‘003’, etc., may be used to differentiate them.
